50 Cent and his estranged son Marquise Jackson’s back and forth bickering goes way back. The pair have a long history of trading barbs and it is kind of really sad, actually. And the petty gene that they both have (outside of how much they look alike), is proof they are definitely related. On a day where many people took to social media to pay homage and applaud their dads on Father’s Day, young Marquise decided to get in to the action and it went about as well as you would think it would considering their relationship. Marquise decided uploaded a snap, captioning this, “Father’s Day lunch lol.” But…there was no 50 Cent is sight, just an empty chair. Clear enough for you? Super Petty.
See it below:
Last year, 50 once jumped onto Instagram to post a countdown clock to the day he no longer had to pay child support for his son.
At the time, he wrote, “Man real life is gonna start Sooners then you think. Sad part is I wish you well, good #Sha[expletive]getajob.” Marquise replied, quipping, “Don’t worry I’ll make u proud! Just don’t forget to tell me happy birthday that day cause u missed a few.”
Fif also posted, “Child support release party Friday 13, Club Lust 1:00 AM Happy Hour drinks on me. Tom petty is alive! Ladies with no kids, free admission. Ladies who didn’t collect child support, free admission.”
Marquise soon jumped into the comment section, writing, “Damn, only if your new TV show was this funny”, mocking the numbers for 50 Central sketch comedy show on BET, which was supplemented by assertions made by one of 50 Cent’s many nemeses, Irv Gotti, who declared that it debuted on BET with the lowest ratings on the network all year.
Anyway, 50 seems to pin most of the blame for the familial rift on that his former girlfriend and baby mama, Shaniqua Tompkins.
Happy Mother’s Day! Welp these pics pretty much sums everything up lol Love u Mama Dukes you are appreciate
“When a baby is a victim of his mom’s views of his dad, it’s terrible. I have mailed them over a million dollars. He’s big now, only 18 months left of support to live off. Then reality sets in, this is real life now. I expect his mom to go crazy now. She don’t know what to do. I pray she figure it out he’s grown now [sic].”
She sued the musician after giving birth to Marquise in 1996, claiming he promised her he would take care of her for life. The lawsuit had 15 causes of action, but was ultimately dismissed by a judge that called it “an unfortunate tale of a love relationship gone sour.”
In 2014, there were mutters that Marquise felt he had been replaced by his younger sibling as he had not seen his father in two years. Plus, Shaniqua did not allow 50 Cent to attend his son’s graduation. Why? The rapper had reportedly been sending hateful texts to his son that read, “[expletive] you stop texting me” and “I don’t have a son anymore.”
Hm. Was Marquise way out of line or was his joke simply a hilarious take on a not-so-great situation?
